Vintage Linen Tablecloth Damask Table Cloth White Zen Moon Clouds Square 45 Drawn Thread buy Lace

A lovely vintage linen tablecloth in quality damask linen, with beautiful drawn thread work and an unusual white-on-white woven design! If ever a tablecloth could be said to evoke a zen-like mood, this is the one!

This lovely cloth measures about 45 inches square. The damask is medium-weight lush linen and has a beautiful sheen; the color is bright white. The design woven into the damask is unusual and fantastic. The center of the cloth looks like the night sky, with buoyant clouds overlapping many moons--very Zen, very sophisticated. I've never seen anything like the design on this cloth! The center is edged with a border of leno lace, done by cutting and drawing out threads and retying the remaining threads. Then there is a damask border of peaceful stripes, another border of drawn threads, and a plain damask outside edge.

Quality damask linen, in very good condition, with one tiny hole (see last photo). Clean item, from a buy non-smoking home.

Please keep in mind that this item is vintage and we love it, in part, because of its age, history and patina. I feel that beauty is enhanced by the fact that they have been used and loved and they don't look brand new.
