This is an amazing and unusual find! I don't honestly know if it was a pattern or if someone created it as a gift. I cannot find another like it. It is the Winthrop Training School rendered through the art of cross stitch. It is dated 1979.
"The Withers Building, also known as the Winthrop Training School or W.T.S., is an historic building complex located on the campus of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. The complex consists of three parts: the old Presbyterian High School, the Main Classroom - Office Building and the new Gymnasium.
The old two-story Presbyterian High School was built in 1891 and bought in 1910 by the state for what was then Winthrop College: The South Carolina College for Women to be used as its teacher training school." (Source: Wiki)
The piece was well done. It is matted and framed in coordinating maroon and green with a dark wood frame. The only issue of the whole piece are some dings to the wood on the frame. These can easily be covered with some dark wood wax, but I prefer to point out the "worst" that I see so buy that there are no surprises. It is very minor compared to the overall appearance of the piece.
It is 15 1/8" wide x 10 1/8" tall. It is clean and ready for it's new home!
