Product code: Wood Picture Frame | buy Ash, Sapele | 4x6 Picture Frame | Handmade | Modern, Minimalist, Two-Tone | Gift for Weddings, Housewarming, Birthday

This 4x6 picture frame is hand crafted and made to order. Each frame features contrasting ash and sapele woods, crafted together for a modern and minimalist look. The sapele is the darker of the two woods used on the frames. The front, exterior and interior edges of each frame are rounded over for look as well as feel. The woods in our frames are not stained or dyed, but are just the natural color of the woods used!  Contact me for custom sizing options!

Description:
- Individual Frame Dimensions (approximate in inches): 6.25 x 8.25 x 3/4
- Each frame comes with a poplar dowel and metal hangers to either stand the frame up or hang the frame in either a portrait or landscape orientation. Nails for hanging are not included.
- All frames are smoothly finished by hand using a high quality, satin, protective varnish.
- UPDATE: All of our frames now include splines in each corner of the frame using one of the contrasting woods in the frame. This adds considerable strength to the frame and a decorative element. An example can be seen in the photos.
- Since each frame is made to order, the wood grain pattern/color will vary from order to order and exact dimensions may vary slightly.

My Process:
Each of these picture frames are made from single rough-sawn planks of ash and sapele woods.

First, they are cut to general sizes, and then undergo a process of milling, ripping, puzzling, routing and gluing/clamping. Each piece is as precisely measured as it is artistically formed, and is lined up with firm emphasis given to the look of buy the grain throughout.

Next, the edges are rounded over and stand holes are drilled.

My finishing process entails carefully sanding each frame using increasing grits to achieve a smooth and attractive feel/look. This is followed by adding several coats of a satin varnish to protect each frame while accentuating the wood.

Lastly, hanging hardware and wooden dowels are added to each frame.

One Tree Planted:
While the impact of woodworkers is typically considered very low when it comes to sustainable forestry, it is part of our mission to give back and to make sure that future generations are able to enjoy the long-lasting beauty and sustainability that trees provide. To further this goal, we have partnered with One Tree Planted to plant trees using a portion of our sales!

For every $100 that you spend in our shop or on custom furniture, a tree will be planted by local partner organizations and community volunteers in areas where there has been deforestation.
