This is a painting of a pure white columbine that decided to plant itself in my garden. I've been waiting for it to bloom, wondering what color it would be. I was expecting some variation of pink, since there are several pink columbines out there already. When I saw this one - pure white - I was really surprised. It is so beautiful in real life, and I hope that I was able to bring some of that beauty to you via this painting. I have found that painting flowers that are a single color can be very difficult, as the color variations are subtle. I think this one turned out well though, and since I had such good luck with the columbine, I decided to paint a white daisy as well. Check it out, and give some thought to getting both buy paintings as a pair.
This painting is done using acrylic paints on a stretched canvas measuring 12" x 12" x 0.5".
