This two-framed set of Willie's Always On My Mind is a country music lover's treasure. The framed photo is 8 X 10 and hand signed by Willie with a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) - Please send name of recipient to be printed on COA. The 2nd frame contains the "legend" of the song, which is a great story of how Willie offered the song to Merle Haggard at his Texas recording studio when they were both recording Pancho & Lefty. Merle didn't like it and told Willie he could keep it. He did and it became his greatest selling album and single record of his career. The record labels were printed in 1982 and forwarded to my father, Ken Kittinger, who made all of the gold & platinum awards for Columbia, RCA, Sony, Apple, MCA, Elektra and all other record labels around the world. His workshop was located on Music Row in Nashville and he was the premier awards maker for 50 years before his death at 91 in 2016. His estate contained not only an inventory of hundreds and hundreds of awards from music history's greatest artists and the greatest albums recorded, but also, hand-signed photos, unused record labels, cassette inserts, promo posters, and more than 5,000 items of memorabilia. His estate is legendary and many of his awards sell at auctions in the U.S. and especially in Europe for up to $5,000....the same awards I list for $179 here on Etsy. You can find more about him by searching google: "Ken Kittinger Gold Records." Click on "images" at the top for a look at some of his awards and more photos.
The mystery we cannot figure out is how he managed to get the 45 single label of Always On My MInd without the center hold cut. He got a lot of graphics for his awards forwarded straight from the printer, so that may be a simple answer.
