With this 12m long of fabric, we make a Kimono.
It means you can make an occidental dress or robe with it.

This silk fabric is not very thin, like organdy, enough to make a dress for outer.
It's recommended to add a lining fabric to wearable clothes.

It's even not bad to make a table liner, a bag, a tapestry, a cushion etc.

The weak point for any Kimono fabric is the width is very short(between 36cm and 40cm).
But we make a kimono with, and many daily life things with it.

The strong point is you don't need sew the edges compared by big width fabric.
It can reduce your work on sewing process.

The motives of fabric is by weaving.
the weaving is by machine.
The color is dyed for plain. it doesn't have any motives by dyeing.

The dye is by Japanese galls.
The Japanese galls can be taken from the sumac tree (Nurude) in mountain, from September to October, has strong purple-grey pigments.
With this, we dye for more of 3times by iron mordant.
boiling the galls from water - keeping small fire 20mins - keep 2times of extracted liquid away - using from the 3rd time extracted dye liquid - washing fabric - dipping fabric - moving always 20mins - mordanting 20mins - washing - back to dipping 20mins - washing
It's the 1st set of process.
We repeat at least 3 times like this, in taking more of 1week of intervals for each set.

For washing&care;
Please take care as silk.
Any silk fabric is not for washing machine.
Any silk fabric is not for high temperature pressing.
Please wash kindly by hand if you do by yourself.
Please dry naturally at inside.
Please press iron with weak temperature.
