I made thing ring, by hand, in my small shop in Maine. I took recycled sterling silver scrap, melted them down, and milled them into a half-round wire. I formed that wire into a ring, then filed the grooves into the band on an angle. This creates a ring that appears woven, even though it is made from a single, solid piece of sterling silver. After filing, I oxidized the ring to blacken the low areas, and provide even more contrast. I polished the high spots by hand, and gave the inside band a high polish.
This ring is US size 8.5. I can size this up SLIGHTLY to ~8.75-9, but I CANNOT size this ring down at all. Please keep this in mind when purchasing, and if you need it sized up, mention so in the comments when purchasing.
I sealed this ring in Renaissance wax to preserve the finish, but it WILL tarnish, like all silver jewelry buy. Any silver solution, polishing cloth, or hot soapy water can restore the shine. please keep in mind that a chemical process was used to oxidize the low spots, and if you submerge this ring in any solutions/pickle/harsh chemicals you WILL REMOVE the tarnish contrast I have applied.
