I have always loved cute little things like this from my childhood, but then question, if I buy those little things, what am I gonna do with them? I wanted to give you those little treasures in a cute up-cycled jewelry box. This blue and red jewelry box takes its color scheme from Cracker Jack boxes. First I chalk painted it, then waxed it. The center piece was a non working clock, so that was removed. Then the 20+ mid century vintage charms were selected. I chose carefully to pick all different colors and themes.
A few buttons from the 40s and 50s were added also, to give it more vintage appeal and charm. These little prizes seemed to be every where when we were kids, now I feel like they are so missed! Those simple silly little things we collected when we were little.
I should add that these little plastic treasures are in great demand and no longer easy to find or inexpensive.
The draws open easily, the insides are very clean. Only imperfections I can see worth mentioning are some warping of the inside fabric where mirror is as well as an area I had to use wood putty to fill a bit of wood loss on outer top left- you see a little bump in photo.

I spend a great deal of time curating for my projects, giving them more than just a fresh coat of paint. My vision is to bring the delightful charm of older things into the present by updating something useful that was not terribly remarkable in its day and make it into something delightful.
Everything I make is done with extreme love and care. I am not a professional, and I try to make the best decisions in terms of the glues, resins and paints, but if something should come off just grab some glue, and gently return it to it's spot. Art is human. buy
