Being that we are a small team, we do not have the resources to photograph every item that leaves our shop! However, I will send you a quick photo of the pin that is made for you so that you can see your beautiful rolling pin before it ships! Please also note that for the first few washes this rolling pin will have some soot that comes off of it. After the first few washes, reapply the included beeswax to reseal buy and the rolling pin will last a lifetime!

Shou Sugi Ban originated in Japan in the 18th century primarily as way to treat wood siding to make it weatherproof, the technique involves charring the wood several times, scrubbing away the ash and then washing repeatedly. Finally the wood is finished with Tung Oil and Beeswax to bring it to a nice sheen.

Food safe tung oil/beeswax topcoat rubbed and buffed to a soft sheen. Just wipe with a damp cloth after use and dry, do not soak in water or use dishwasher to clean.
