History
Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted is where it all started. It was the first dinnerware set created by Royal Copenhagen.
The pattern was copied from German Meissen, which was the first European factory to produce the Blue Fluted porcelain. Although the pattern has several hundred years behind it, there is still great demand for the items.
The porcelain is in very high demand and is a timeless classic.
Dinner sets, coffee sets, candlesticks, lamps and many other exciting items were produced by Royal Copenhagen in the Blue Fluted pattern.
The delicate blue flowers painted on the white porcelain characterize the porcelain. The pattern appears in three versions, plain, half-lace and full-lace. It is also available with or without a gold rim.
The porcelain is characterized by the fluted shape, which is said to have been inspired by the shape of a clam or mussel.
Tips for maintenance
Much of our porcelain is dishwasher safe and some is not. All underglazed painted porcelain is dishwasher safe. Underglaze painting means that the painting is under the buy glaze, such as e.g. Blue Fluted or Blue Flower series.
However, pay special attention to the fact that some older dishes and other objects do not have glaze all over - if this is the case, the porcelain must be washed by hand.
Porcelain that has been painted on top of the glaze cannot be washed in a dishwasher, as the paint wears off quickly. The same applies to porcelain with a gold rim, where the gold rim wears off.
