“La Semana Santa"(holy week) and “Domingo de Pasqua”(Easter Sunday) is one of the holidays that kids love and enjoy. Months before Easter, the egg shells are collected for that special day. Eggs are gently cracked open from the tip before cooking and the eggshell is washed, rinsed and put away. Finding and breaking “cascarones” (eggs) on your head is a Mexican tradition enjoyed by many kids and some adults too. Two to three days before Easter, the “cascarones” are painted and filled with confetti. Families unite to celebrate the holiday. Children fill their baskets with hunted cascarones and crack them on peoples heads for fun and for good luck. This little doll is ready for a day full of fun, food and egg hunts. She is holding a cascaron to crack it on her sisters' head. The base of her skirt is made of styrofoam and covered in felted wool. The bottom of the doll is covered with a piece of black felt sheet and blanket stitched all around the bottom for an added touch. Her full outfit is decorated in festive decorated eggs and buy flowers to represent Easter. She is 9in tall, 2.5in wide and weighs 1.4oz.
