buy Most gloves sold by Aurora's Mirror are from estate sales. Usually dated from 1930's to 1990's. Condition/damage/stains noticed will be listed. Slight imperfections are normal with vintage gloves. It will be listed if the gloves appear to have never been worn. We normally do not clean gloves. They are sold in the condition we receive them. We also do our best to give you the correct glove size. Any questions, please convo us.

PLEASE READ OUR POLICY STATEMENT BEFORE ORDERING FROM US.

SIZING
• Glove size is determined by measuring your hand across the palm just below the base of your fingers. Double the measurement for your size. FOR EXAMPLE, 3 inches across would be size 6, 3-1/2 a size 7, 4 inches a size 8, etc. The suggestion that a woman should/could determine her glove size based on her shoe size is not true. Although these numbers may be the same for some women, they are certainly not identical for all.
• When purchasing vintage gloves be aware glove size may vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer. My suggestion would be to purchase a 1/4 size to 1/2 size larger as vintage gloves tend to be slightly smaller. Most leather dress gloves will stretch slightly to form fit your hand.
• Some vintage gloves we sell have no tags and we estimate size using the above measurements. Most gloves fit the average finger length. If a pair of gloves has longer finger length it will be noted in the gloves description. Because women had smaller hand sizes 50 or 60 years ago there are always more smaller size (5 to 6-1/4) gloves available and it is harder to find larger sizes (7 and up).

Information for cleaning gloves (from information with a pair of gloves from the 1940's):

FABRIC GLOVES
• Wash on hands in suds of mild soap and lukewarm water
• Rinse fabric thoroughly
• Press out excess water...do not wring
• Shape before drying
100% nylon gloves are machine washable, warm...separate colors first

LEATHER GLOVES
• Wash on hands with warm, mild suds. Rinse in clear water. Do not squeeze or wring. Final rinse should have a drop of soap or glycerine (restores some of the natural fat to the leather).
• Remove gloves, blot on a towel and dry away from heat. For best results dry on glove frames.
• When nearly dry, shape on hand. When dry, stretch or knead firmly in length and width several times to soften leather.
• IMPORTANT: White and other light colors require extra stretching and working at little folds with your fingers...yellow and seemingly dried up spots will spring back to life and natural color.
• If you dry clean your gloves, continue to do so as the instructions above do not then apply.
