The slices in this listing range in size from approximately 2 to 3 inches in diameter (+/- for margin of error). They are approximately 1/4 inch thick. Here at The Heritage Tree we pride ourselves in putting out the best product available. This is done by taking great care in hand selecting our wood for cutting and then drying it completely. The final drying phase is done in a heat controlled room and by doing this it eliminates moisture from the wood that would otherwise cause molding or splitting. Thus providing a superior product for our customers. If stored properly these disc can be used for years to come. They have been sanded on both sides, are cleaned of any debris that may occur during the cutting and sanding phase. These arrive dried and sanded in ready to use condition. We send storage instruction sheet with all disc orders.

We have sold hundreds of thousands of our tree slices to camp coordinators for name tags and craft tags, to wedding and event planners for escort cards, place cards and table numbers. Our larger slices, ranging from 3 to 4 inch in diameter have been sold in the tens of thousands for coasters for both personal and professional use. DISC SIZING

This listing is for approximately 2 to 3 inch diameter slices (+/- for margin of error) You will receive a variation of these sizes. If you need something more precise such as 3 inch diameter please go to our Etsy store and purchase one of listings for 3 to 3.5 inch diameter. This will insure you get the needed size desire.

DRYING AND SANDING

Our disc are completely dried. Much of the drying process is done naturally. We then finish off the drying process by drying all disc in a heat controlled room to push out any further moisture that may remain. It is at this point in the drying process that if a disc is going to split it will do so now and this allows us to pull out any split disc from your order replacing them with properly dried disc.

These disc are lightly sanded. They are smooth enough to write, stamp on or paint on. Additional fine sanded may be desired if applying a urethane sealer.

SHIPPING TIME FRAMES AND POLICIES:

All tree slice orders are assigned a shipping date that you can find on your purchase receipt. Please look at this before inquiring when your order will ship. Should you need your order sooner we often times can meet that request but it is important that you contact us prior to purchase to confirm this is possible. Then once confirmed we ask that you leave reference to our "conversation" in "note from buyer" at checkout concerning our ability to meet your need by date. Without prior confirmation we can not promise to meet your buy need by date. If you are going based on the shipping date on your purchase receipt, as a rule of thumb we are 1 to 2 weeks out from date of purchase to date of shipping. However this may vary depending on current order volume so we recommend that also check our current shipping policy for possible delays as we do keep that updated.

All tree slices from 2 to 5 inch diameter shipping in the USA ship via USPS Priority Mail, 1 to 3 day shipping at no additional charge. This is to help offset any delay in time for processing. SHIPPING INSURANCE IS INCLUDED BY US. We can ship with other carriers should you prefer. If you do prefer a different carrier please contact us prior to purchase so that this can be arranged.

BARK LIMITATION:

We typically have great success with keeping bark on our wood slices however we can not guarantee this. Because this is a natural product it does have certain limitations. But along with these limitations comes natural and unique beauty. Wood is beautiful with or without bark. The bark on these tree slices may or may not be on when you receive them. Being a natural product it is too temperamental for us to know for sure that the bark will stay on and we do not want to mislead you as there is always the chance it will fall off. Again though not typical it can still happen.

PIGMENTATION OF MAPLE

Maple is a very light colored wood with a whitish/grey bark. There is very little pigmentation variation on maple slices though you may find some darker spots on occasion.

SAW MARKS:

Because on a tree slice you are cutting against the grain, saw marks are much easier to see. If you are looking for something completely void of saw marks and if this is the case then tree slices are not for you. Most people find that they only add to the rustic appeal of the tree slice.
