Originally designed for, and sold with, beauty dusting powder, this clear glass lead crystal lidded bowl was made exclusively for Avon by the Fostoria Glass Company sometime in the 1970s.

Founded in 1887, Fostoria glass is highly collectible and at its peak, was considered one of the top producers of elegant glass in the US, with the company even making products buy for several US presidents.

While Avon Products began business in 1886, it wasn't until the company's 75th anniversary that it started to commission pieces from Fostoria. During the 1970s, Avon became an important and valued client of Forstoria, whose business was being severely impacted by foreign competition.

This beautiful lidded bowl is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or discoloration. A lovely social history conversation piece, you can use it for so many things, ranging from beauty powder, cotton balls, or potpourri to nuts, candy, or small trinkets.
