This is a map for anyone who's lucky enough to have hiked in the Bighorn Crags of Idaho. buy The map is colored so as to evoke the feeling of a moonlit night spent camping in the woods, which really makes it for anyone who's felt the beauty of those silver nights in the woods.

I create my maps using a combination of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and vector graphics software. I pull data from public data sources such as the USGS, or local government GIS departments to design the base map. I hand-place all the labels, and I design any graphics used on the map. I like to explore a variety of cartographic techniques, so each map has a unique look and style.

Each map is designed with respect to the place - these are not formulaic designs. My color inspiration comes from my own travels and photographs, and I strive to communicate the unique feeling of the place in the map. When I return from an adventure I like to return to the map as a way to remember the trip; just like photos and journal entries, maps preserve memories.

The prints are high quality and vibrant, but not considered "archival." If you would like an archival-quality print please contact me. A 13"x19" archival print will take about two weeks to ship and will cost $50.
