This is a subtly beautiful Agate-Style silk scarf with soft purple-red contrating with a gentle turquoise blue and white.

At 150 x 25 this is a 'long' Agate scarf.
The colours in my scarves are often subtle, inspired by nature, but many just spring from my meditation and celebrate the beauty of colour itself in unexpected ways.

Agate style scarves are named after the striped gemstone agate, I create all my scarves as a form of meditation, so that like the agate gemstones the silk can carry a 'vibration' of positive energy from my meditation in addition to the natural energy buy provided by the colours.

Agate is a healing stone which brings inner harmony, balance and confidence. The peaceful and uplifting consciousness of my scarves can also bring inner peace, confidence and harmony, reducing stress and aiding good health and wellbeing.

Silk is a wonderful medium. The moment the dye touches the fabric it is drawn into the threads and begins to spread. As more colours are added they flow and mingle with each other. You can't rush silk-painting which is one reason why I find it so ideal as a creative form of meditation.

I meditate before beginning to paint all my scarves and play soulful music while I'm working on them. I treat the painting as a real form of meditation. Throughout my painting I try not to use my mind in a critical or analytical way, I 'play' spontaneously with the silk and it plays with me. And I feel that when I am making these scarves I really can let the meditative flow guide me enabling me to impart a strong spiritual consciousness into my work.

I always say, just hold the scarf close and feel the peace. Feeling is Believing.

This scarf is a long size (150 x 25 cm) made in ponge 5 (fine, lightweight) silk. I can make a similar scarf in the regular size, 114 x28cm) - the smallest size that I make - if you prefer. The price for the regular size Agate Scarf is just £40.00.
