Title:
Antique tile delft of a fat rabbit in a very deep blue 1780
Description:
A fabulous hand painted Dutch tin glazed tile of a rabbit within a circle with irregular Spider corners . It's a hard one to call, there are pin marks to two of the corners, a sign of a 17th Century tile. The glaze has many very fine pin marked holes , It has been produced on a very light clay. The main decider for me is the colour of the glaze that being on the grey side, the edges are very sharp, although chamfered. I would date the tile to 1780
Condition:
Very good condition, large chip to the bottom right corner.
Size:
Delft tile are always called a 5 inch tile however size varies a great deal about this figure. Exact size 125mm X 125mm
