Old German/Austrian buy Chess and Checkers Set K=6cm, Vintage Wooden Handmade Chess set with Original Folding Chess Board and Storage Box

This is an old wooden chess set from the 1950's-1960's. made in Germany or Austria. It consists of 32 chess pieces, 24 Checkers, Folding chess board and and cardboard storage box. Chess pieces are made of maple wood and turned /carved by hand. One side is in natural color and not coated with varnish. Other side is coated with black paint with matted finish. Pieces are not felted or weighted.
The set comes with its original folding chess board. It is made of thick cardboard bound in paper. Two halves of the board are connected with fabric. One side of the board is a chess field, other side is a Nine Men Morris field. Paper on both side imitates beautiful wooden structure. Checkers are made of wood and finished in the same way as the chess pieces. The storage case is made from thick cardboard bound with blue paper. There's compartments for the different types of pieces. Beautiful set with simple design that offers good play and compact size.

Condition:
The set is in excellent condition. Looks like unused or barely used. White side of the set is uncoated and the wood is very white and clean. Coating on the black side is in perfect shape. Board is in excellent condition. Paper is nice and clean, colors are vivid. The storage box is little worn at the edges. The lid is slightly curved from the age.
