buy Rarely do we find unworked printed tapestry needlepoint canvases of this caliber. It has been clearly and precisely printed in 21 colour on antique ten count penelope canvas. Every stitch square is colour coded to one of the 21 colours on the legend printed on the border of the canvas. We think this canvas was probably produced in West Germany at the height of popularity in the craft in the middle of the last century.
The design is delightful, depicting an autumn landscape with winding road and meandering river. A little farm house can be seen in the background. This is quite a large canvas with the print area measuring 67cm x 45cm (26" x 17.5").
