One of a kind enamel drop earrings. These will look great with both casual and dressy outfits.

The enamel components are a bright red and sapphire blue with a background of black and part of my 'Coral Garden' series. I used opaque colors layered over each other which result in unusual variations of the base colors and add a cut quartz crystal bead for interest.

To make the earrings, I file and form the copper metal base to ensure a pleasing curve. For the enamel components, I added two layers of counter-enamel (black) on the reverse side for strength and durability, then several layers of colour buy on the front and add the designs using a scribe tool. This adds an organic look to the final pieces. These pieces have 3 layers of color and effect on the front. After enameling, I hand-make the sterling silver hoop wires and connectors and assemble.

Each combination of design elements and the outcome from the kiln-firing is unique.

They are about 1 3/4 inches total length from the top of the sterling silver ear-wires to the bottom of the enameled component.

Enamel is glass fused to a base metal, so please treat these earrings as precious and handle and store carefully so they last for decades!
