Briouate or briwate is a puff pastry, generally triangular or cylindrical in shape, typical of Morocco. It can be sweet or savory.

The almond triangle is the sweet variety; it is prepared with toasted almonds, sugar, orange blossom water and cinnamon, all wrapped in a sheet of brik (warqa in Morocco), in the shape of a triangle and coated with honey.

Briwat means envelope in literary Arabic.

Briouate is the Moroccan variety of preparation found throughout the Ottoman Empire under different names: sambusak or brioute in Turkey, bourek in the Balkans, Lebanon and Algeria, brick in Tunisia ... the origin the pita from the Middle East which is made with sheets of phyllo dough

They can be enjoyed right after cooking but are usually eaten cold, accompanied by mint tea.
