Spirit Dolls
I am a Pod Person. My wish for you is Love, Light and Joy. Don't worry if you forget my wish, it is written on a piece of paper that was placed next to my heart. It is now held within, in my soul.
These small soft figures just fit in the palm of your hand. They are stitched with love by me one bead at a time. When I am beading the heart space I ask, “What is your wish for me?” When the words come, I write them on a small piece of paper and place it in the center of the Spirit Doll's body. I am a Reiki Master so as I work on each Pod Person I infuse it with the Love of Reiki.
The bead stitch that I use is a South African Zulu technique referred to as the Rib Stitch. I increase and decrease to create the shape of the body. Each Spirit Doll is stuffed with soft handmade felt. I make the felt for other projects (like my journals). The left overs are wonderful for stuffing the bodies buy of my Spirit Dolls. I love to decorate their heads with other stitches and most often they look rather organic. Each Pod Person stands on top of a large flat button. They will stand on a flat surface such as a shelf or table.
