***VERY IMPORTANT FITTING INFORMATION:***
To make a custom skirt just for you, I will need two measurements from you.
The first is your NATURAL WAIST measurement. (This is taken around your middle at the narrowest part. When having someone make a custom garment for you, this is not the buy time to fudge your measurements! Get someone else to help you measure if necessary.) Round to the nearest inch. Find this number in the WAIST MEASUREMENT variation menu.

Second, take your WAIST TO FLOOR measurement. Put the end of your tape measure on your natural waist (narrowest part) at your side; measure over your hip, down your side, straight to the floor in bare feet. Round to the nearest inch. Then subtract the height you want your skirt to be from the floor. This is the number you will choose in the LENGTH variations menu.

**PROCESSING TIME** I aim to complete your made-to-order and custom orders in a timely manner and ship them quickly. Time frame varies widely based on supplies availability and number of current orders that may be ahead of yours. Each listing's processing time is a general estimate and is not a guaranteed due date.

PIONEER TREK ADVISOR:
A sturdy set-on waistband can properly support the weight of a full, long skirt without drooping. It also helps keep the small-waisted look from the 19th century without a corset, by staying up at the narrowest part of your waist. Adding a lightweight petticoat or crinoline can also help by keeping the fabric from dragging on your legs, making for easier walking. Be sure to choose the appropriate skirt length for your age. In the Nineteenth-Century, girls and teens wore shorter skirts to distinguish themselves from those of marriageable age. On Pioneer Trek, choose a calf length skirt for safety against tripping.

The ELIZABETH skirt is named after my husband's pioneer ancestor ELIZABETH STEWART GEDDES (1831-1868), who crossed the plains as a young woman with a wagon train in 1854 and settled in Weber County, Utah. She married WILLIAM GEDDES, whom she met on her passage to America.
