This Victorian era, rolled gold brooch is made in a Belle Epoch style. The cast buy open work metal component is a bright gold with a deep, ruby red paste stone. The oval shaped faceted cut glass measures 5/8 by .5 inch. The open work metal part measures 1.5 by 1 1/8 inches. It is a classic Victorian Belle Epoque design with cast detail in the metal edges and settings. The C-clasp safety pin on back measures 1.25 inches. It is made well and has a nice weight to it. It is from the late 1800's.
