The Dastak tassel originated in Persia, quickly appearing in neighboring regions thanks to migrants, nomads, and shared crafts.

Traditionally, they were used as wall-hanging near doorways, as separators for folded linens, and as dramatic garment accessories.

These Dastak tassels have several legs with multiple tiers of fringed "skirts," eternity knots, and silk-thread cords.

The large panels at top were beautifully hand-embroidered with distinctive Persian designs. They were lined with floral Russian cotton.

To show relative size, I draped them around the neck of a life-sized manikin for taking a photo.

These old tassels have some wear patterns, but are in overall great condition.

Price includes PAIR as shown.

About UZBEKISTAN: Uzbekistan is a remote country located within the inhospitable steppes of Central Asia.

Inhabited since ancient times, it has been influenced by a succession of multiple dynasties and monarchs since its settlement by nomads in 1200 BCE.

The famed old Silk Road trade routes passed through this region, bringing a steady stream of new ideas and goods to Uzbekistan, many of which were incorporated into Uzbek traditions.

Many Uzbek rulers sponsored artisans from across the continent to come to Bukhara, Khiva, Samarkand, Tashkent and the Fergana valley. Here, they produced exquisite crafts and jewelry of unrivaled quality - a reputation that endures even today. ©
