This striking amethyst slag glass pedestal bowl dates from the late 19th Century.
This striking amethyst slag glass pedestal bowl dates from the late 19th Century and was likely made by Sowerby or one of the other Gateshead glass factories of the era. It's a gorgeous swirl of purple and white slag glass with a textured finish.
It measures approximately 11.5cm tall and 13cm wide, and weighs 375g.
It's in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is some roughness to the underside of the base, and some of the usual tooling marks seen in glass of this age.
It displays beautifully and would make a great addition buy to any English pressed glass collection, or be a lovely gift for a lover of Victorian decorative pieces.
