This Swedish Herbarium Series of prints is truly unique. I came across them when visiting Stockholm some years ago. They are all from the 1930's and represent the Herbaria collections of 2 people. These collections differ from many others in that they are all still beautifully intact despite being close to 100 years old.
An herbarium is a collection of plant specimens dried and mounted on acid free paper and labeled for use in scientific study. The French and Swedish were particularly interested in botany and have provided us with beautiful collections of herbaria.
The individuals who preserved these specimens had an eye for the artistry of the process and it is what makes these particular collections so exquisite. They will bring a timeless, contemporary, yet nostalgic beauty to any space.
