M Lowenstein New York - Ornate Bronze/Brass Estate Ashtray / Match Holder - Repurposed Pipe / Cigar - Rest / Holder / buy Stand

Here I have a rare find, this antique ashtray/match holder comes from M Lowenstein, a turn of the century manufacturer out of Brooklyn New York. This bronzed brass piece has exceptional patina producing just the most wonderful coloring. If that is not enough, the match holder contains wonderful detail work denoting cherubs and Scroll work with one of them even smoking a pipe! The piece is dated to 1900, I have seen others pretty close to this dated 1901, so it is definitely right at the turn of the century. This piece works excellent as a pipe, cigar, or cigarette rest as you can see but it can be for whatever your imagination dreams up. It is beautiful on its own as display piece and given its unique look will most likely garner a doubletake when looked at. This piece weighs in at about at one pound and is in great estate buy condition.
