This is a custom original watercolor portrait from photos you provide. Made with watercolor paints, pen, and pencil on watercolor paper.


Process:
If you already know what you want, you can go ahead and purchase this listing! If not, I would be happy to help you choose a size, a photo, and/or whether you want me to mat it for you. Once listing is purchased, I do a sketch and then get started on the painting. When I am finished with the painting, I will send you a photo for approval. Upon approval, I'll package it in sturdy cardboard and a mailing envelope and take it to the post office. Turnaround time (time between purchase and when the USPS receives it) is usually around 1-3 weeks.

Photos:
The very best photos to use for a painting are well-lit (think daytime!), clear, and large.

Disclaimer:
This will not be a direct copy of your photo! Expect the finished painting to differ slightly. I will make some adjustments based on what I think will look best in the finished painting, and often painted faces don't look *exactly* like they do in life or in photos.

Options:
I've laid out the sizing options based on how many people you will have in the painting. One reason for this is that details in a portrait are easier to capture the bigger the painting is. So if you want a family portrait, it has to be bigger! I can also mat the finished painting for you- the painting will be mounted to a backing board and centered in the buy mat opening so all you'll need to do is put it in a frame!

Shipping:
Finished painting is placed in a cellophane, self-sealing bag, then taped between two pieces of cardboard. Painting in cardboard is placed in a mailing envelope and sealed with heavy duty packing tape. Shipping costs for US customers are built into the price of the painting. Matted paintings cost more due to the extra packaging required, the time it takes to mat the painting, and because larger pieces cost more to ship.
