Hibernating Hedgehog
These hedgehogs are so sweet....I had one in my garden one night and it was a delightful sight ! I left bowls of water out and some tinned meaty dog food. By morning, food was gone and so was the hedgehog!
They are very active and can walk up to 2 miles a night to forage for food. Many females will come out in late summer to stock up in late on nesting material and extra food. The young are called Urchins.

Hedgehogs are insectivores, so they eat all the slugs, snails, bugs and grubs in your garden. The nasty ones that eat your veg and flowers. They really are a gardener's friend.
