An attractive art nouveau Lourdes souvenir brass rosary box. The hinged lid features the archetypal scene of Bernadette Soubirous kneeling before the Immaculate Conception at the Grotto, with lilies climbing up either side of the picture and the words Souvenir and Lourdes. The back is also beautifully decorated with flowers (peonies?) The lid is a good, snug fit. (The dimple at the front, below the lid is deliberate, it is how it is held closed). This charming little box and could be used for a rosary, trinkets, snuff, pills, jewellery and so on. A pretty, decorative item which would look lovely in a cabinet display or on a dressing table.

4.6cm interior measurement inside lid
1.5cm deep
