It is a great example of a large format mid-century cocktail.
It is a great example of a large format mid-century cocktail cuff bracelet. It measures 7 inches which is an average size for a woman's wrist. Each 2 x 1.5 inch open work, cast panel link is hinged to the next. The 5/8 x 1.25 inch, black colored, rectangle faceted middle pieces are held in the component by open work, silver tone textured plates. They are made of an early plastic called thermoset. It closes with its original fold over box clasp and still functions well. It has an antiqued silver finish. Since the links are thick, it has a nice weight to it. ***Please note that there is some wear to the edges of the black colored plastic bars on their edges.***
This style of accessory was usually worn at fancy cocktail parties, which were very popular at the time. Sometimes, these over the top pieces were known as, " cocktail " jewelry. There are no makers marks.
NecromanceNola sells this type of vintage bracelet often since it was well made, usually plated multiple times and had unique design. The silver tone plating is still in good condition, showing only minor signs of wear. The four large links are a unique shape and have a nice weight to them. The hinges are still lose and functional. The box clasp is original to the cuff.
