Topaz is a fascinating gem which produces varieties of all sorts. It ranges in rarity and value from the extremely common colorless variety through natural and irradiated blue stones into the rarer 'precious topaz' yellows and browns, and then into the rarest colors: the purple-orange-red-apricot range of Imperial Topaz, and pure pink topaz. Though red-orange imperial topaz has thus far almost exclusively been found in Brazil, Ghundao Hill, north of the town of Katlang in Pakistan, has produced stones with a striking range of pink, purple and peach colors.
This stone is a really nice example, with a light pink-peach color. It is basically a light-toned imperial topaz, and will not fade in sunlight like some other similar-appearing topazes. It has bright crystal faces, good form and is overall a beautiful and unique gem.
