This is a metal workman's lunch box constructed of black painted steel. It has an unbelievable amount of wear that may have come from someone who decided they were going to buy only one lunch box during their working life. Easily half of the black paint has worn off to the bare metal. It has way to many dings and dents to count. The handle most definitely is a replacement; it is a leather strap fixed to the the lid with nuts and bolts, and the leather is very worn. Both of the snap latches are missing their snap so the user must have used a couple rubber bands or some type of strap to keep it shut. The inside is clean, bare metal. There is a small amount of light rust on the side of the lid with the latches and a touch on the bottom, nowhere else. I believe it is an Aladdin lunch box but the manufacturer's info has worn off. buy It truly is a great example of a household item that legitimately earned its wear. Use it for storage of small things, seed packets, scissors, tape and string, paint supplies and brushes, anything that needs a home and will fit into an area approximately 10 1/8" x 7 1/2" x 4 7/8". This is a big personality piece with a no nonsense industrial vibe.
