Title:
Antique tile Hand painted Chinese tile from about 1945 the Republic Period.
Description:
Ok well out of my knowledge area with this one, A great hand painted tile of a gentleman in a cap with an umbrella, I feel that he looks like a cricketer that's just picked up the wrong implement. Clear back stamp to the reverse which I can't read. I have been told that the mark is from the Republic period (1912-1949), I would guess the tile is from about 1945 but I could be way off with my dating. The tile is made from plastic clay, some curvature to the tile and sides are chamfered.A very stylish painting. Mark is difficult to decipher would be grateful for information from anybody that knows about the manufacturer and period.
Condition:
Excellent, chip to the middle of the right edge.
Size:
5” * 5”
