Our materials:
We use cork and organic cotton (lining). In addition, all buckles and zippers are made of metal.
Cork is THE vegan alternative to leather. The bark of the cork oaks of Portugal is peeled about every nine years, so that the naturally renewable raw material can be obtained from it. A textile carrier makes the material even more durable. The global cork oaks bind over 14 million tons of CO₂ per year. This corresponds to the annual emissions of almost six million passenger cars. The ability to store these gases is greatest in the growth phase of the tree. Therefore, a straight peeled tree that is in the structure of its new bark can bind up to five times more CO₂ than an unpeeled oak of this species. With the purchase of your sparrow, you give the Portuguese companies the opportunity to maintain and reforest buy the forests and therefore make an active contribution to climate protection.
We get our organic cotton directly from India, near our production site. Compared to conventional cotton, the organic version has many advantages in terms of growing conditions and water consumption.
Both for the environmental idea and the longevity, we use for all buckles and zippers those made of metal.

What is important to us:
We make sure that our products do not cost a life, our sparrows are VEGAN. We only use sustainable natural materials for which neither humans, animals nor the environment have to be harmed, so we make sure that the RAW MATERIALS COME FROM ORGANIC FARMING. Due to the cork harvest (peeling instead of felling the trees), the products are RESOURCE-SAVING and contribute to a better CO₂ BOND.
In addition, we have found a fairwear-certified partner in Shenzhen for the production of our bags. We want to share this with our customers and raise awareness of how to improve working conditions in Asian countries. Change should start where it is needed!
