PerTin Vintage cotton collarless dress shirt with antique Japanese Katazome printed indigo panel and pocket.

This Vintage cotton dress shirt in beautiful crisp white cotton is a fine example of the artistry and craftsmanship of its original makers. Originating from the 1940's, typical of shirts from the period, with a double cuff and thin collar stand onto which the collar would be attached.

Updated with the addition of antique japanese textiles in the form of a katazome resist stencil printed indigo panel and indigo weave pocket applied with traditional sashiko stitching. A fantastic piece on its own or layered with a kimono and scarf.

As with many piece's from the period there are obvious signs of wear in the form of pin head fabric wear at back and a small tear at the left side seam - these have been left to retain authenticity and be in keeping with the antique fabrics added.

Many of the items we sell feature repairs and patches which are fine examples of the Japanese tradition of Boro where everything is valued and nothing that can be repaired is discarded.
