Care For Handwoven Rug
Flat weave rugs are one of the most sought after carpet options because they are easier to manage.
To clean this rug, brush regularly to pick up surface dirt and dust.We do not recommend machine wash for this type of rug as it gets heavy when wet. To hand wash, the rug should be washed flat using a mild soap, water and a gentle scrubbing brush. Wash your rug on both sides and rinse thoroughly with clean water with some white vinegar to remove soap residue. You might need some help for the larger rugs. Hang to dry. You can also have it professionally cleaned if you prefer.
Stain Removal
Stains must be treated immediately. Scrap off pieces of food and other particles with a spoon or something similar. In case of liquids such as wine, coffee, milk and body fluids, try to soak up as much as possible with a cloth or paper napkin from the top side as well as from the bottom. DO NOT RUB! Secondly mix a solution of cold water with some mild detergent. Moisten a white cloth or sponge with the solution and dab it onto the stained area until you get rid of the stain. NEVER RUB! For stubborn stains, you can wash the area with a soft brush, mild soap and water. DO NOT BLEACH! Hang the rug to dry or use your hair dryer on a warm setting to dry the wet area. Make sure it's completely dry.
