This is a beautiful vintage painting by the listed artist Charles Benolt. This is a typical Benolt piece featuring a blue underwater scene with detailed, colorful tropical fish swimming among the coral.
It's in great vintage condition. The painting itself, done on hardboard is undamaged, although if you look closely it is a little dusty and there are some spots on the canvas that could be wiped away. But, the paint hasn't chipped off and there aren't any scratches on the canvas. The colors are beautiful and deep, and the detail is amazing.
The painting inside the frame is 8x10 inches.
The frame is also in good condition for its age. It's also a little dirty from age, but undamaged. The linen matting around the painting is yellowed and dirty from age. On the back there is a sawtooth mount for hanging. It has been very simply framed with just the four metal tabs holding it in place.
This would be an amazing addition to a seascape themed bedroom, bathroom, or any nook or gallery wall.
