Antique buy Imperial Crown China, Austria, (Bawo and Dotter) hand painted (#49), transfer ware, couple scene, pierced, ornate gold decorated rim

• Antique Imperial Crown China, (Bawo and Dotter) hand painted with transferware, Roman/Greek couple scene, ornate decor, bright pink, gold decoration, gilded handle, pierced porcelain.
• Measure : 6.25 inches wide
• Sold and decorated by Bawo and Dotter c.1883-1914 ( Imperial Crown China back stamp)
• The other dark green back stamp is 'Vienna Austria' - most likely the manufacturer of blanks
• Porcelain is in great vintage condition with no crazing, cracks or chips. The gild has visible wear on the buy handle and some on the edges, the couple scene is in very good condition for its age --- over 106 years old.

• Imperial Crown China, Austria backstamp is the mark of Bawo and Dotter (a decorator and importer). The blanks were decorated in Fischern, in the Kingdom of Bohemia (during the Austro-Hungarian Empire), today known as Rybáře, Carlsbad in the Czech Republic. However, their main office was in New York and they also had a decorating plant in Limoges. They were founded c.1883 and went on until c.1914.
Germanic makers using the name "Crown Imperial" is really a homage to world-renowned Austrian maker 'Royal Vienna' , one of the original hard-paste European innovators back in the 18th Century.
