I'm dating this unusually wide thick and chunky, hand hewn, heavy tiger maple rolling pin at 1900s, possibly late 1800s. It appeared to be one piece at first but upon closer examination, there is a seam and it is held together by interesting dovetails at the handles.
The handles are not separate as in newer pins.
Beautiful patina and handles. I can't say enough about the figuring and warmth of the maple in person - a beautiful utilitarian object likely fashioned by a talented husband for his wife.
I also have a skinnier one for sale, with no seam $85
19" edge to edge and little under 3" in depth.
I always ship the most economical way depending upon distance and always refund excess postage. buy
