We use premium quality stoneware buy clay, which is a porcelain clay and is fired at over 1.200 degrees Celsius. As vitrification proceeds the proportion of glassy bond increases and the apparent porosity of the fired product becomes progressively lower. The clay becomes nonporous (ie it doesn't soak up liquids) and hard as a rock. The result is a very durable non-peeling product, ideal for every use: our products can be safely put in the microwave, the refridgerator and the dishwasher. We also use food grade ceramic glazes which are 100% safe and are lead, cadmium and barium free.
