Tikka buy holder, ancient Indian box cod. BOX42

Box from India made of teak wood, datable first half 900.
The piece is equipped with a swivel top that opens revealing additional storage space and compartments.

Tikka boxes with lids would originally contain various colored pigments, mainly
to apply the Hindu buy bindi mark on the forehead, to be worn according to age and use. Original patina.
