Each year when I sit down to create my ornaments, it is almost like being a couture designer; one color suggesting another color and inspiring the trims and beading. And this years collection was all about color and images, past and present that pop into my collective viewpoint.

Each buy ornament is paper mache. It begins as a kraft brown (think paper bag) and is transformed into what you see here; days of work from beginning to its unique finish as each step requires drying and layering, pinning and gluing. Each bead and embellishment is delicately hand pinned and glued into place.

I LOVE old movies. And the glorious actors that graced the silver screen. And so this year, I made a collection of ornaments to honor those beloved actors: Hollywood Holidays. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

And amongst my stars, you have to include THE leading man, Clark Gable. No one could work those twinkling blue eyes and little twisted smile better than Clark. Straight drama or comedy, he had it all. Done in black and silver, the ornament just sings of Hollywood glamour.

The ornament measures approximately 2" all around, with some of the additional ornamentation adding some dimension.
