This pair of beautifully made French clay sculptures farmers figures depicts traditional characters from Provencal village life.

They are decorated with corn husk made garlics, straw hat, knitted hat, beautiful clothing made from vintage fabric, felted wool and beads, glazed buckets .....so many details to look at.

The male also a tag attached "Qualité Francaise, Membre des Comites, Made in France“

Both of the Bases are signed S. Peirano who is santonnier Segondo Peirano (1892-1983).
