Antique black lacquer paper mache box for snuff
Black with brass inlay

Circa 1850 19th Century
4 X 2 ½ X 1 inches
Condition: A small buy chip in the finish on the bottom edge as well a small rubs on the corners and edges of the bottom. A mark from a sticker on the bottom. The cover has a chip in the finish on two corners and the brass is raised from the shrinking of the box. There are some other very minor rubs and crazing and light scratches on the box. The hinge works fine. Typical for it's age. A very nice old box.
