Vintage Danish Beaded and Sequined Hand buy Bag 1970’s Blue Silk Evening Bag Formal Wear Breining Royal Appointment SI1018

An extremely rare, handmade couture handbag or evening bag made in Denmark in the early 1970s. This bag is marked “Breining Kongelig Hof Leverandor Ostergade 26 Copenhagen” Roughly translated to “By Appointment of the King” which indicates that this manufacturer or Italia was making items for the Royal family of Denmark.

A gorgeous pale powder blue silk with hand beaded pale blue glass beads and iridescent sequins. The small bag has a serpentine, chrome plated buy handle. Interior is all hand stitched silk satin and is in extremely good condition with only minor discoloration near the tag. It looks as if it was hardly used, maybe on a couple of occasions. This piece was obtained at the estate sale of a Pacific Heights home in San Francisco.

The chrome frame and kiss lock still sparkle like new! This is a stunning handbag and would make a beautiful addition to any wardrobe or collection.

A nice sized bag at 7.5 inches wide, 6.5 inches high and about an inch and an eighth thick when closed. The opening of the small strap is approximately 6 inches from the top of the bag when extended. The strap is perfect for holding on the wrist or in the conventional manner
