This is a fantastically rare antique Ukrainian rushnik from late 1940s, real collectible treasure! The towel has embroidered word of the Ukrainian folk song "Hey, godmother, don't be sad!" and scene of the folk dance. Just incredible quality of work!
The rushnik (embroidered decorative folk towel) is made in traditional for old Ukrainian embroidery red-black colors. Of course, it's handwork (hand embroidery), the technique is cross stitch.
The towel is enough long, 182 buy x 36 cm.
It has some not critical imperfections of the time - like some small spots in places of hanging. Also, it's a very old item.
But - it's a really great found and treasure. Everyone who values folk art and real vintage will see this!
