This is a very lovely SILK PRINT depicting TWO Cranes feeding with heads and beaks reaching down through the reeds and into the water. The design is printed onto paper-backed SILK Habotai. This SILK is designed to run through my exceptional printer and takes the inks beautifully. The size of the print is 8.5" X 11 (this includes a 1/4 inch white border for framing purposes) and will come with a backing board of 1/4" archival foam core and in a cellulose sleeve. Also included on the back is a page about the BATIK process or the sandhill crane (could be one or the other) and a bit about me. This is a lovely print. Colors are very rich. The quality of the print is wonderful.

The design is from an original BATIK I created in 2018. The original is available and is the same size as this print. Message me if you are interested. I have yet to list any of my originals and that will be changing in the New Year.

BATIK is a unique process of using hot wax and cold water dyes to create a unique, one of a kind design on fabric. In this case, the hot beeswax is used initially to outline the birds and reeds and design parts. Then the dyes are painted on. The wax prevents the dyes from spreading. Once dry, the wax is ironed off and then the silk is run through a dry cleaning solvent several times until all the wax is removed.

This design is one of MY personal favorites and is a completely original design.

I like my followers to know that fully 20% of the profit of this print will go to my local non-profit, Native Animal Rescue of Santa Cruz. They are a wonderful and necessary rescue facility that has helped our injured and orphaned wildlife over and over and over. I can't say enough about them. So know that your purchase will be helping wildlife.

Thank you for viewing for shop. I hope you take a moment to noodle around. I buy am in the process of revamping it so pardon my dust.
