buy Adorable Netherlander closing in on antique status.
For Kimport aficionados and those who love history and
the past, this little one is iconic.
Of course she has the Kimport label.
Geertji of Holland is a 10" strung, bisque doll. Most likely an Armand
Marseille German head, shipped to the Netherlands & dressed there. Inlaid eyes are glass
& fixed
and she even has little tiny teeth ! Some of the early bisque dolls, also from
Holland, had sleep eyes. She may have markings, however, hair is
glued down. Her woolen skirt is still bright with vertical stripes, mostly hidden
from view under her apron. She does have some small holes in her stockings
near her wooden shoes.
I have written about her regional costume elsewhere on another listing,
and that is easily found if you are interested.
